Speakers

WordCamp Netherlands 2015 proudly presents the following speakers. Please note that speakers are announced in the language their talk will be given in.

Brecht Ryckaert

Brecht Ryckaert kwam voor het eerst met WordPress versie 1.5 in contact, toen hij dit ontdekte als blogger. In 2008 is hij aan de slag gegaan bij Combell als Service Desk Engineer waar hij zich al snel is gaan specialiseren in content management systems, met in het bijzonder WordPress.

In 2010 richtte hij Mediagraaf.be op, waarmee hij tot op de dag van vandaag WordPress en Concrete5 websites bouw voor zijn klanten. Dit naast zijn rol als WordPress Specialist binnen Combell. Brecht deelt zijn kennis en praktijkervaring met de community, zodat beginners niet tegen dezelfde muren aan hoeven te lopen en niet dezelfde draken hoeven te verslaan als hij.

Coen Jacobs

Coen has been working in the WordPress ecosystem for close to 10 years now. After having worked on the WooCommerce plugin for two years, he decided that it was time to expand his knowledge on other programming languages, frameworks and get a larger toolbox for his web development work.

Nowadays, he’s building APIs, web applications and sites on various platforms and frameworks. Some projects are better suited for a framework like Laravel, while others are a perfect match for WordPress.

Daniel Pataki

Daniel is a developer at heart, specializing in WordPress mostly. He is the editor of the WordPress section on Smashing Magazine and he writes for a number of large sites such as WPMU DEV, Tuts+, and more.

David de Boer

David is internet-ondernemer sinds 2003 en heeft veel ervaring met WordPress, Joomla en e-commerce oplossingen. Hij is ondernemer, programmeur, iDEAL expert en spreker.

Hij is dagelijks bezig met het ontwikkelen en (internationaal) verkopen van software. Hij is een iDEAL expert geworden door sinds 2008 duizenden Nederlandse webwinkels te helpen met hun iDEAL integratie.

Gijs Hovens

Gijs is Marketing Manager bij Savvii Managed WordPress Hosting en kan zo z’n passie voor het tweaken van websites en het opbouwen van een merk combineren. Hij is ook co-organisator en oprichter van WordPress Meetup Nijmegen.

Ines van Essen

Ines van Essen werkt al een aantal jaar met WordPress, waarvan de afgelopen 4 jaar voornamelijk zijn gericht op user support. In eerste instantie voor haar eigen klanten (ondernemers die hulp nodig hadden met hun website) en later als tech support voor WordPress plugins. Ze deed veel onderzoek naar wat user support maakt of breekt en past deze kennis toe in de WordPress markt.

Joost de Valk

Joost is a 33 year old web developer, SEO and online marketer. In the early days of his career he worked in several companies, ranging from enterprise hosting to online marketing agencies. This allowed him to work with several large brands around the world.

In 2010 Joost founded Yoast, which focuses on software, training and services for website optimization. Team Yoast currently consists of 30 people. Yoast SEO, Yoast’s main software product, is currently available for two platforms and active on around 4 million websites.

Juliette Reinders Folmer

Juliette Reinders Folmer is an all round consultant and web-developer who tries not be a geek. Juliette is a long-standing member of PHPWomen which helped her immensely to find her feet in the PHP world. She is ZCE, actively contributes to a number of open source projects, is the creator of the PHP Cheatsheets website, has published several articles and speaks at conferences when given the chance. She loves it when you give her a chance to refactor spaghetti-code to something elegant and maintainable.

Luc Princen

Luc is partner and lead developer at Chef du Web, a small WordPress agency in the south of the Netherlands. He loves open source, eloquent javascript, barbecueing caveman meals and playing (grand) strategy games.

Luca Sartoni

Luca Sartoni is a media professional with more than a decade of technical and marketing background. Thanks to his extensive experience in different business environments, from SMEs to large corporate projects, Luca helps companies scale up their business adopting data driven strategies. He does not believe in Santa Claus, magical spells and everything that is not backed up by facts. Luca is a Growthketeer at Automattic.

Matt Cohen

Matty is head of the product team on Woo at Automattic, where they build exciting plugins for WordPress. He’s been directly involved in the growth of WooCommerce since before the product launched, and have been involved in it’s current growth and exploring the eCommerce ecosystem in Africa.

Mike Jolley

Mike has over 10 years experience developing for the web, and has been developing WordPress plugins and themes since 2005. He’s the lead developer of WooCommerce at Automattic.

Some of his biggest achievements include building WooCommerce (a popular eCommerce plugin) and WP Job Manager (a job board solution) which are now Automattic projects.

Petya Raykovska

Petya is a Senior Project Manager at Human Made where she helps large projects across big publishers and enterprise succeed. She is a huge WordPress enthusiast, active member of the WordPress community, contributing to the awesome Polyglots team. Petya organised WordCamp Europe 2014 in Sofia and WordCamp Europe 2015 in Seville with a global team of WordPress volunteers from all over the continent. You can follow her on Twitter and her blog.

Rian Rietveld

Rian is een WordPress back- & front-end developer voor haar bedrijf RRWD web development.

Web accessibility is belangrijk voor haar: het web moet een bruikbare en toegankelijke plaats zijn voor iedereen. Voor WordPress theme en plugin developer biedt zij accessibility auditing, code reviews, trainingen en consultancy. Ze is ook lid van het Make WordPress Accessible team en helpt met het verbeteren van de accessibility van WordPress.

Taco Verdonschot

Taco is Community Manager bij Yoast. Dat betekent dat hij zich bezig houdt met ‘alles wat met klanten en gebruikers van de plugins te maken heeft’. Van het aansturen van het support team tot het schrijven van ‘knowledge base’ artikelen en van het managen van Yoast Translate tot het organiseren en bezoeken van meetups en WordCamps.

Ook naast zijn werk is Taco druk met organiseren. Zo houdt hij zich bezig met X-Life (LANparty) en regelt hij de collecte van de Brandwondenstichting in Lent. En kom je Taco op een festival tegen, dan is hij waarschijnlijk als EHBO’er pleisters aan het managen!

Taeke Reijenga

Taeke Reijenga is een allround WordPress professional en eigenaar van internetbureau Level Level te Rotterdam.

Level Level is in de afgelopen 7,5 jaar uitgegroeid tot een full-service WordPress bureau. Met een gedreven en multidisciplinair team werken we dagelijks aan het vormgeven en ontwikkelen van mooie projecten voor het internet. WordPress vormt hierbij de rode draad. Taeke heeft ruim 10 jaar ervaring met webontwikkeling en werkt met WordPress sinds versie 2.0 (Duke).
